Wavelink has announced a strategic partnership with Vangard Voice Systems. The agreement enables Wavelink to extend its voice offering beyond the four walls of warehouse and distribution centers and into cross-industry data collection applications such as mobile field services, sales and mobile inspections.

Wavelink will utilize Vangard Voice Systems AccuSpeechMobile technology to enhance the Wavelink Speakeasy product family. Initially, the technology will deliver text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionality to existing client-resident mobile applications.

Currently, Speakeasy enables Wavelink Terminal Emulation and Wavelink Industrial Browser customers to add voice capabilities in a 100 percent client-side, speaker-independent and hardware-independent manner. With the integration of AccuSpeechMobile technology, Wavelink Speakeasy will offer the benefits of voice technology to an array of device-resident mobile applications. Wavelink will also be offering Speakeasy for Wavelink Studio, its mobile application development platform at the end of 2008.

The partnership between Wavelink and Vangard will voice-enable a wide spectrum of applications across the enterprise. Wavelink channel partners will be able to offer a single solution for adding voice to cross-industry mobile data collection applications such as mobile field services, mobile inspections and task management applications typically used in warehouse management systems.
